Title: Full-time teaching position for Education
Effective date: August 15, 2022
Salary: The position is full-time, leading to tenure with a salary commensurate with training and experience.
Qualifications: Must be able to teach a variety of lower and upper division courses in elementary education, middle years, elementary or secondary field experience, advise majors, and supervise student teachers. This position would also require working within the department through the CAEP accreditation process.
A master’s degree is required for all education faculty positions, a doctorate preferred. A candidate must have at least two years of K-8 or 7-12 experience at an accredited school or a teaching certificate and high school classroom experience. All applicants must demonstrate strong communication skills and an interest in the academic and spiritual development of undergraduate students. A successful candidate will be an active member of the Churches of Christ/Stone Campbell heritage and demonstrate a commitment to Christian education. York College is a private Christian institution of higher learning affiliated with the Churches of Christ. All applicants must be active members of the Churches of Christ/Stone Campbell heritage.
- Provide up to 24 hours of classroom instruction per school year in various teaching classes
- Participate in the evaluation of the department
- Serve on campus-wide committees as assigned
- Serve on department/division committees as assigned
- Maintain office hours
- Serve as an academic advisor
