It’s time to register for Vermont Health Connect, the state health and dental insurance market. You have until January 15 to register.
This year’s plans feature new, lower health insurance costs thanks to the US federal bailout law and a change in how your 2022 health and dental insurance will be paid.
Here’s what you need to know before signing up:

Lower costs: You can probably pay less for health insurance purchased through Vermont Health Connect than before. A new national report shows that customers in the Vermont market save an average of $ 186 per month, which is Vermont’s largest savings in the country and almost triple the national average, according to the Vermont Department of Health Access.

A change in payment based on customer requests: You will find a change who you pay for your 2022 health and dental insurance. Currently, customers pay a monthly bill to Vermont Health Connect. In 2022, customers will send separate payments for health and dental insurance directly to their insurance companies, starting with their first 2022 bill, which arrives in December. The change was made in response to customer requests, according to Adaline Strumolo, acting commissioner of the Department of Vermont Health Access.

It is preferable to register before December 15th: For insurance that begins January 1, you will need to register through Vermont Health Connect by December 15. If you enroll between December 16 and January 15, your coverage will begin on February 1.
