Plaza College Community Health Clinic offers free dental services for children –

The Plaza College Community Health Dental Clinic will be providing free services to children ages 2 to 17 from June 20 to July 15, on behalf of Shiny Teeth of Queens.

Children who come for services, hosted by the Student Dental Hygiene Program, will receive a gift bag and certificate of attendance. The Plaza College Community Health Clinic, where the event will take place, is located at 118-35 Queens Blvd. at Forest Hill.

Among the free services that will be available for children are dental cleanings and exams, fluoride treatments, pit and fissure sealants and x-rays. In addition, parents or guardians are encouraged to make dental appointments there with their children. They also have the option of bringing the dental examination forms from school for their children, as they can be signed.

Parents and guardians who register their children for an appointment before June 22 can enter a raffle. The winner receives a gift basket with Oral-B, Colgate and Crest items. Dental insurance is not mandatory when making an appointment.

All appointments must be made in advance, as the clinic does not accept walk-in appointments. Appointments can be made by email at [email protected] or by phone by calling (718) 779-1432. The clinic is open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Patients must provide either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 24 hours to be treated. Additionally, patients and parents or legal guardians are required to wear masks when entering the clinic. Parents or guardians are required to accompany their children to the appointment. They will also have their temperature taken and will be required to complete a COVID questionnaire. A telephone consultation will take place between the dental hygienist who will be working on the child and the parents or guardians before the scheduled appointment date.

According to Plaza College Community Dental Clinic, they accept all patients who request dental hygiene services without qualifying criteria. In addition to cleanings, exams, fluoride treatments, sealants, and x-rays, the clinic also offers tooth desensitization, tooth whitening, dental education, and sports guard treatments. They may also provide referrals outside of their scope, such as for medications, emergency procedures, oral surgery, fillings, orthodontics, or endodontics.
