NORTH PORT – Price Creek Dentistry is offering free dental services to veterans Wednesday, as part of Free Dentistry Day for Veterans.

During Veterans Free Dental Day, cleanings and fillings will be performed between 8 a.m. and noon at 1500 Price Creek Way in North Port.

Patients will be accepted by appointment only.

Drs. Timothy Lee, Anamevys Alonso and the team at Price Creek Dentistry will honor and support local veterans on a day dedicated to providing free dental care to the growing number of veterans without dental insurance.

“We understand that many veterans in our community and across the country have not been to the dentist for a long time. Some veterans don’t have the financial means, ”Lee said in a prepared statement. “This event is a great opportunity for us to share our time and resources with the men and women who have dedicated their lives to our country. “

There is a growing body of evidence linking oral health to general health and well-being. Signs and symptoms of more than 100 medical conditions, including diabetes, HIV / AIDS, Lou Gehrig’s disease, and oral cancer, can first be detected by traditional oral exams.

“We are incredibly grateful for all that these veterans have sacrificed,” Alonso added in the same statement. “Through this event, we hope to honor and support our local veterans and encourage them to adopt an ongoing oral health plan. “

Veterans are requested to bring a valid Veteran ID (Veteran ID Card, Veteran’s Stamp License or DD214). For more information, call 941-200-5094 or visit https://www.FreeDentistryDay.org.
