When told to reschedule, woman late for dentist appointment damages office property: University Heights police blotter



Criminal Damage: Cedar Road

At 1.20pm on April 15, police were dispatched to Innovative Smiles Dental Company, 13922 Cedar Road following a report of a patient damaging items in the office. The woman, 18, from Cleveland, had arrived late for a dental appointment and was told she had to reschedule. The angry woman then damaged property.

Police charged the woman with criminal damage.

Domestic Violence: Warrensville Center Road

At 5:30 p.m. on April 11, a 33-year-old University Heights woman reported that the father of her child, a Maple Heights man, also 33, had attempted to break into his home. her and threatened her.

The city attorney began to review the case to determine if charges would be brought, but the woman then called the police and said she no longer wanted to press charges.

Psychiatric situation: Cedar Road

At 11.35pm on April 13, police responded to a residence on Cedar Road following a report of a mental health crisis. EMS transported a 29-year-old woman, without incident, to hospital for evaluation.

Fraud: Washington Boulevard

At 9:30 p.m. on April 14, a 72-year-old University Heights woman reported potential fraud involving her bank account totaling over $13,000. A fraudulent check in the woman’s name was reportedly presented at a Texas bank.

The police investigated and the woman did not lose any money.

Criminal Assault: Loyola Road

At 2.50pm on April 15, a woman went to the police station to report that she had been assaulted the day before at a home on Loyola Road by her boyfriend, 24, from University Heights.

Police attended the home and arrested the man for felony assault and obstructing official business.

Domestic Violence: Cedarbrook Road

At 7:40 p.m. on April 16, a University Heights man, 40, reported that while away from home his wife, 38, assaulted his stepdaughter, 15.

Police took witness statements, photographed the girl’s injuries and investigated the case.
